Her own mother knitted had it when her children were born she would love to give the same shawl to her daughter.

There's a free download from Pattons Australia but it's been adapted to knit in rows rather than in the round, also it's in 4 ply yarn so the finished shawl is not so fine. I would much rather work from the original pattern and wondered if you were able to upload it?

Many thanks for your help.

SallyA Stitch In Timehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17075096243687592958noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2604097880746413234.post-54166254147363813252016-09-08T23:47:07.910-07:002016-09-08T23:47:07.910-07:00Hi Jen,

The shawl does use the Pi principle but you don't need to double the stitches because the gauge in the lace is different to the gauge in the centre panel. Basically, I used the numbers in the pattern minus one. I did all knit in the centre to get a stockinette panel. I rearranged the lace pattern so the four row repeat was purl row, lace row, stockinette row, stockinette row. I used a provisional stitch to cast on the edging and then, when I had knitted the whole way around, I grafted them closed.

I hope that answers your questions! I'm "hereiknit" on Ravelry if you want to chat about this more.Belindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00113177566890374679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2604097880746413234.post-88075803516749966782016-09-06T22:49:13.284-07:002016-09-06T22:49:13.284-07:00Hi Belinda. Like you, I have recently knitted this shawl with Luxury Frost 3ply, (I live in Bendigo so the woollen mills are very convenient!) using the original Patons pattern knitted flat. I'd now like to have a go at knitting it in-the-round, as you have done.

Please would you let me know what adaptations to the original pattern you made. For instance, the centre portion is increased to 288sts, then the pattern calls for increase to 432sts in one row for the feather and fan section. However, using the pi principle, the 288 sts should be increased in one row to 576. Is this what you did?

Thanks for your advice.
JenAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
